Earlier today, we broke the news about how Delta Award Redemption Charts Were Released, as well as took a look at Delta’s new Economy Redemptions, but now we are going to a take a look at the First/BusinessElite award chart.

Delta BusinessElite

First, if you haven’t already you can view the 2015 Award Chart Here. Delta is claiming that of the 44 Award level pricing changes, more than 95% are decreases, which is true but most of those increases come from high level awards and only by 5,000 miles so nothing too significant in my opinion.

Here are a few different first class awards I want to highlight:

When it comes to domestic first class awards within the continental United States, Alaska and Canada, Saver awards are still staying at the 50,000 level. The 2nd tier to be added is a 65,000 level.

Screen Shot 2014-03-06 at 8.22.25 PMThe standard award pricing level of 80,000 is actually dropping 5,000 miles to 75,000 miles as the third tier. A new fourth level is added at 90,000 miles and the old peak pricing of 100,000 is increasing 10,000 miles to 110,000 miles.

For BusinessElite awards within the US, there are no major changes besides the 2nd and 4th tier being added. Level 1 will still be 65,000 miles, and their highest Level 5 will be 150,000 miles.

  1. What a joke of an airline program. They slash mileage earning and claim they are helping customers. I was a diamond for the past 3 years and now go out of my way not to fly them. And if the other legacies copy delta, I’ll simply give up on ff programs altogether and fly foreign carriers as their planes and service are so much better.

  2. To be honest, this all means nothing… until we see availability. Has anyone ever been able to redeem at level 1? In that case, why not advertise that it takes 1 mile for award tickets… but really have 1 seat per day that is at this level? False advertising.

FF programs are done for. All the airlines are doing well financially so they don’t care about loyalty. I can’t wait until the next economic hard-time. Let’s see what they decide to do to win our business when that happens.

  3. Delta really blew me away when I checked them out. First class now required since they’ve shrunk coach seating so much I can’t fit in anymore. Hmm… 80,000 miles to fly from Richmond Va to New Orleans La off-peak, 180,000 peak. Somehow I don’t think I’m going to make a priority of earning Delta miles anytime soon.
