SPG Summer Promo Announced: SPG Earn Away

Starwood Preferred Guest announced their new summer promotion which run at more than 1,000 participating Starwood hotels and resorts May 1 through July 31, 2014.

It’s called SPG Earn Away and SPG members will earn double Starpoints on all eligible stays or stretch any stay to include a Sunday (Saturday at hotels in the Middle East) and earn triple Starpoints.

Registration is now open and you must register by by June 30, 2014 to partake.

Be sure to check out the list of non-partcipating properties in this promotion, as there are quite a few. However, eligible bookings made prior to the promotion registration are eligible.

Terms and Conditions:

Registration: Members must register online at spg.com/earnaway by June 30, 2014, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET). Registered members can earn bonus Starpoints® for every eligible stay between May 1, 2014, and July 31, 2014 (the “promotion period”), at participating Starwood hotels and resorts. A list of nonparticipating hotels and resorts can be found at spg.com/earnaway and is subject to change.

Earning: Registered members will earn triple Starpoints if eligible stays include a Sunday night at participating hotels and resorts, other than those in the Middle East. Participating hotels and resorts in the Middle East will instead award triple Starpoints for eligible stays that include a Saturday night. Registered members will earn double Starpoints on all other eligible stays at participating hotels and resorts during the promotion period. Participating properties in the following Middle Eastern countries will award triple Starpoints for stays that include a Saturday: Amman: Jordan; Bahrain: Bahrain; Kuwait: Kuwait City; Lebanon: Beirut; Saudi Arabia: Al Khobar, Dammam, Jeddah, Makkah, Medina, Riyadh; Qatar: Doha; United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai and Fujairah. To view the complete list of hotels and resorts not participating in the promotion, visit spg.com/earnaway. Members who earn double Starpoints will earn an additional two (2) Starpoints per eligible US$1 spent (for a total of 4 Starpoints per dollar). Members will earn an additional four (4) Starpoints per eligible US$1 spend (a total of 6 Starpoints per dollar) with eligible triple Starpoint stays. Elite-level extra Starpoint earnings and other bonuses will not be doubled or tripled. Only the base two-Starpoints-per-dollar earnings are doubled or tripled. There is no limit to the number of bonus Starpoints that can be earned during the promotion period. Offer is eligible with other Starpoint promotions, however each offer bonuses independently of each other and are not combinable.

Bonusing: Bonus Starpoints will post to the registered member’s account within 2–4 weeks after the qualifying stay posts.

Eligible Stays: An Eligible Stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights paying an Eligible Rate in the same hotel regardless of the number of check-ins or checkouts that occur and post to the member’s Starwood Preferred Guest® account. Eligible Stays with at least one night in the earning period will receive a bonus. An Eligible Rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest program.   1. It’s a joke when there are so many properties that choose to opt out of promotions. Then they shouldn’t be part of the SPG brand.
