It’s baaaaack! The 100,000 Avios British Airways Visa Card

a large white airplane at an airportWhen it comes to Credit Cards going wild, nothing beats a card that gives a 100,000 miles! Last year both CapitalOne and British Airways had this offer. CapitalOne repeated it a month or so ago, this year too, although not as good in it’s terms as last year. Not to be left behind, British Airways is back withs Chase is once again a promotion where you can earn a 100,000 Avios.

Here are the terms:

  • EARN UP TO 100,000 BONUS AVIOS
  • 50,000 Avios after the first purchase
  • Another 25,000 Avios after the first $10,000 spent in the first year
  • Yet another 25,000 Avios after the second $10,000 spent in the first year
  • NEW: SMART CHIP TECHNOLOGY

  1. Please- it is not “back” by any stretch of the imagination. The sign up bonus is only 50K Avios (anyone who says it’s 100K is flat out misrepresentation), and Avios points are worth a shadow of their former self. Not to mention they rip you off massively with fuel surcharges, on top of the horrible award chart.

  2. @roland, definitely not 100,000 miles at sign up. But there is an opportunity to earn upto that. As I said in the post, if one can spend the $$. I still think it’s a great offer. 100,000 miles are nothing to be sneezed at.

  3. It starts making me sick to see the huge bonuses that European carriers are rolling out… exclusively for the American market. The highest bonus that BA has ever offered in Germany was a measly 20000 miles for their premium Visa card and that one is € 89 per year and it DOES come with foreign transaction fees. Did I mention that it only gives you ONE Avios per € on all purchases and 2 for BA tickets (with the € at $ 1,31) ? That sucks, BA!!!

  4. @Mike from Berlin, sorry to hear that. Why do you think they limit EU based bonuses? I have heard this about other airlines too, not just BA.
