Protect yourself: Robbers tell how they snatch

A new video produced by Thong Lor police in Thailand graphically illustrates how easy it is for thieves to snatch phones, bags and valuables. It is useful viewing for tourists irrespective of where your destination is. We travellers must reduce trash

I was walking along this Thailand beach recently and was distressed at how much litter I gathered up in one short 20-minute walk. The bags were all left at the airport. The airline then could not find any of the bags. Passengers started a Facebook group called ‘Airberlin 8109 Stockholm to Berlin – Where are our bags?!?!?’. The group’s description says: “Baggage company says to contact airline; airline says to contact baggage company. Vacations & weddings ruined. We still can’t comprehend why the…

Considering Carry On

I was standing at the check in counter for Lufthansa at Frankfurt. The check in agent asked the passenger next to me to present his carry on bag so she could weigh it. “why? It’s just carry on” “yes sir. I need to weigh it. Sir it weighs 12kilograms. You must check it. ” “the last airline let me carry it on” “You have to remove items or check it in sir” “this has nothing to do with safety. You just want to make money. Get me your supervisor” The customer then berated the supervisor.…
