Found a great airfare between Europe and Austria with Eva, the Taiwanese five star airline for a seat in Premium Economy. Ticks a few boxes. Shenzhen Air joins Star Alliance -No One World for China?
Following the recent addition of Xiamen Airlines to Skyteam, Shenzhen Airlines China’s fifth largest carrier has joined the Star Alliance after 16 months of planning. Shenzen is based in the city of the same name, 1,940km from Beijing. The airline links 70 cities domestically and internationally. In 2010, the airline was involved in a scandal when it was found that about one hundred of its pilots had falsified their flying qualifications and experience. I have flown Turkish Airlines six times in the past six weeks. They are a member of the Star Alliance (along with United, US Air, Singapore, Lufthansa and others). The Alliance slogan is: “The Way the Earth connects”. Upon booking, I called Turkish Airlines, and asked them to enter my United number into the Turkish Reservations system attached to my flight bookings. Turkish Delight -Great Trip + Best Economy Meal Ever!
Turkish airlines are the 83rd airline I have ever flown. Member of the Star Alliance since 2008, they have been expanding rapidly in the last eight years and now fly to over 200 destinations with 160 aircraft. Turkish Airlines have been awarded Europe’s Best Airline and Southern Europe’s Best Airline twice in 2011 and 2012.
