And Russia makes 77

I am filling in my globe with all of the countries, territories and regions I have visited.  With the addition of Russia this week, I have made it to 77 countries. I only count a country if I have left the airport. So while, I have transited through Doha and Johannesburg airports, I do not include Qatar and  South South Africa in my tally. Amazing video of ship beaching

From 1987 to 2012, the MS Pride of Calais served on the cross-Channel route to Calais. Last year, she sailed between Ramsgate and Ostend. In October, the 26,000 tonne ship was sent to a scrap yard in Turkey. Last week a video went viral of the MS Pride of Calais being run aground at at the Turkish breakers yard. Related articles

Unicorn flies to Turkey

Excited about her vacation to Turkey, Emily Harris, from Wales made a toy passport for her design-a-bear unicorn named Lily. Her mother Nicky said  “The passport doesn’t even look real – it’s got gold teddy bears on the front and was a completely different size from mine and my husband, Allen’s… The picture ID …was of a pink unicorn” Despite this,  Nicky accidentally handed over the unicorn’s passport instead of Emily’s to Immigration officials who in turn stamped it , granting Lily the Unicorn access to Turkey.  Ironically, the Unicorn had been left at home.
