I recently flew business class on the Air France Airbus A350-900 CDG-EWR. This Air France business class review will talk about seats, food, amenities and more. Originally we had been scheduled on a Delta One flight from Paris CDG directly to our home in Cincinnati, but that flight was cancelled. After another night stay at the Holiday Inn Express Paris / CDG Airport, we returned to the airport to try this one more time! After a bit of time in the lounge, we were ready to board our next flight, in Air France business class on the Airbus A350-900. This Air France Airbus A350-900 Business Class review will go through the seat, amenities, food and other experiences on our flight.

Air France CDG SkyTeam Lounge Access and Air France Boarding Process

Air France has several different lounges that business class passengers and SkyTeam elites have access to. The previous day we visited the Air France Paris CDG Terminal E Gate M Lounge while before this flight we visited the Air France Paris CDG Terminal E Gate L Lounge, since this Air France business class flight was

We had a few hours in the lounge before our flight from Paris CDG to Newark EWR.

When it was time to board our flight, we went through the terminal over to Gate L42. We timed it a bit loose so had to wait for a few minutes for boarding to start, but eventually we got boarded. My wife was randomly flagged for secondary seating, so we had to wait for that to finish before we could get on the plane and settled in for the 7 hour flight from Paris to New York / Newark.

Air France Airbus A350-900 Business Class Seats Paris to Newark

When my Delta One flight was cancelled, I was pretty nervous about being rebooked – the last time my business class flight was cancelled, I was reaccommodated in economy and had to spend months trying to chase down the compensation for the downgrade. But this time, as soon as my Delta flight was cancelled, I got an email right away with our new flight. We were instead assigned 4 seats in Air France Airbus A350-900 Business Class. We had seats 14A, 14D, 14H and 14L, which is an entire row in a 1-2-1 Air France Airbus A350-900 configuration.

And my wife and I were in the middle seats (14D and 14L). I was in 14D (the left-middle seat)

Here’s an overall look at part of the cabin – we were in the 2nd to last row of business class.

The middle seats have a full divider that you can raise if you’re traveling by yourself. Since on this particular flight we were next to each other, we kept the divider down for the entire flight. The seats also had a divider (not quite a door) that you could close for more privacy, but the flight attendant came by to tell me that because I was traveling with a minor next to me that I was not allowed to close it so I could “watch” her.

The seat had both regular AC power outlets and a USB power outlet, as well as controls at the seat and a remote control to manage the TV. The seat went back to a fully lie-flat position which made it comfortable to briefly nap, since this was a daytime flight.

Air France Airbus A350-900 Business Class Entertainment

There is a large screen at your seat showing a variety of different entertainment, however somehow I did not take a picture of that (bad travel blogger!). The screen was large and as I recall, the entertainment selection was pretty good (though I slept through a good chunk of the flight).

The seat had a small compartment nearby

Opening that up had headphones as well as a small bottle of water. The headphone jacks for the entertainment system also supported standard headphones.

Each seat had an Air France amenity kit

There was Air France business class wifi available for purchase, though by the time I woke up after eating and taking a small nap, I did not end up purchasing it and just watched movies on the entertainment system instead.

Air France Airbus A350-900 Business Class Menu

Before I get to a review of the food on my Air France Airbus A350-900 flight, here are shots of the menu that was presented onboard.

There was also a page listing the different beverages available. I don’t drink alcohol, so this is not super exciting for me personally, but I know that many people look for the alcohol selection when selecting a business class flight.

Before takeoff, they served nuts and champagne. Since I don’t drink alcohol, I had orange juice instead.

The starter was a roll with some garlic cream and vegetables along with fruit, both of which were pretty good.

For lunch / dinner, I had the beef with gnocchi, which doesn’t LOOK that appetizing, but was actually pretty good 🙂

For dessert, I had a small fruit cake and some gelato

They also served appetizers later on in the flight. Those small cheese-filled crepes / crackers were quite good. When I went back up into the galley to have some of the “on demand” food, I grabbed another set of those :-).

The Air France Business Class food was decent and I would definitely fly Air France  business class again.

The Bottom Line – Air France Airbus A350-900 Business Class Review Paris CDG to Newark EWR

My Air France Airbus A350-900 review is that it was an excellent flight, with a comfortable lie-flat seat and decent food. While I would have preferred the direct flight from Paris to Cincinnati on Delta, this Air France business class from Paris to Newark was great. The food was good, the seat was lie-flat and comfortable and the entertainment was solid. If you have the chance to fly Air France Business Class from Paris CDG to Newark EWR on the Airbus A350-900, I recommend it.
