Air India has been spending a lot of effort bringing planes back in the air from grounding, leasing planes to increase capacity, and adding capacity to existing routes or adding more flights to routes that used to be served in the past. Last year, Air India also started adding more international capacity, and since then, it has launched flights to Phuket in December 2023. Air India has a slate of destination launches, which include Boston, Seattle, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Air India will head to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) from Delhi five times weekly.

Air India has just opened bookings on the Delhi to Ho Chi Minh sector. It will launch flights between Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, a non-stop service operated with an A320neo, effective June 1, 2024. IndiGo is the only airline operating flights between India and Saigon at the moment.

Operated with an A320neo aircraft offering 162 seats (150 in Economy and 12 in Business Class), AI 388 will depart Delhi at 1:15 PM and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City the same day at 7:55 PM. The return flight, AI 389, will take off from Ho Chi Minh City at 08:55 PM and land in Delhi at 00:30 AM the next day. The route will commence with a five-flight-a-week schedule (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays).

Bottomline

Air India will launch five times-a-week flights between Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City on June 1, 2024. The flight will be operated by an Airbus A320neo. This will make Air India the second Indian carrier to operate flights to Vietnam after IndiGo.
