Amex has brought back the opportunity for successful new applicants and current holders of two of its Delta co-branded cards to order a special design of their card that not only boasts a unique Boeing 747 design but that that is also made, in part, from two 747s that once flew in Delta’s livery.

The limited edition cards

Between 25 April and 5 June 2024, holders of the card_name and card_name can request a limited-edition design of their card which was created with 33% metal from Delta ships N662US and N670US.

Amex ran a similar promotion back in 2022 where the special design looked like this:

This time around, the cards are ‘cloud-white’ in color:

The cards are available to existing cardholders as well as to anyone who successfully applies for a card_name or a card_name while stocks of the limited-edition cards last.

Amex hasn’t said how many cards it has had made but considering how big 747s are and how (relatively) small credit cards are, I’d be surprised if stocks were to run out before the 5 June end date.

In case you’re wondering, these are the current welcome bonuses on the two cards in question:

card_name:

bonus_miles_full

card_name:

bonus_miles_full

I’m not a fan of either card, but if you’re a huge Delta flyer it probably makes sense for you to hold one or both of these cards.

Bottom line

For fans of Delta who play the miles and points game and who also happen to be AvGeeks, this is probably the best news they’ve had in a while 🙂

card_name and the card_name can be had in a very special limited-edition design that celebrates the amazing Boeing 747.

I can’t say that I have many good things to say about Delta SkyMiles or the co-branded cards associated with it, but if you were considering getting one of these cards anyway, now would be a good time to apply to lock in a piece of aviation history.
