Bilt Rewards Adds Hilton Honors As A Transfer Partner

Bilt Rewards announced earlier today that they were adding Hilton Honors as a transfer partner.  Effective immediately, Bilt Rewards members can transfer to Hilton on a 1:1 basis.  To celebrate the partnership, Bilt Rewards members can earn a 1,000 Hilton Honors point bonus on their first transfer of at least 1,000 Bilt Rewards points.  With this addition to the program, Bilt Rewards now has the following travel partners as transfer options:

Should You Transfer Bilt Rewards Points To Hilton Honors?

Not all points are created equally.  Some folks will say they like Hilton better than Marriott or Hyatt better than Hilton.  While there are no wrong answers, there are wrong ways to spend flexible points like Bilt Rewards points.  The most expensive Hilton hotels can cost over 100,000 Hilton Honors points per night.  Generally speaking, the most expensive Hyatt hotels will cost 40,000-50,000 points per night.  Bilt Rewards has the same transfer ratio to both Hyatt and Hilton, 1:1.  That means you need a lot more Bilt Rewards points to book the average Hilton property versus a Hyatt property.  For that reason, I don’t recommend using this transfer partner unless it’s in a pinch where you’re rounding up your Hilton account to top off for a specific award redemption.  This is especially true if you’re spending on the Bilt Mastercard, in that if you’re charging $1 of unbonused spending (not travel or dining) you can earn a lot more than the equivalent of 1 Hilton Honors point if you spend that dollar elsewhere.

Oh, but you definitely should link your Bilt Rewards account to Hilton and transfer 1,000 points before June 8th, 2024.  Because, why not get 1,000 free Hilton Honors points?

The Final Two Pennies

More transfer partners is always better.  We love options.  But, most people shouldn’t consider transferring from Bilt Rewards to Hilton.  Bilt has made a habit out of offering crazy transfer bonuses, that’s where the real value is in their loyalty program.  I have yet to make a 1:1 transfer with Bilt, there’s always been some sort of opportunity to score a better transfer bonus.
