As well as releasing at least 18 targeted offers (which we discussed earlier), Hyatt has also launched a new sale for stays in the ‘Asia Pacific’ region which covers properties in 224 locations across 20 countries.
The sale
Save up to 20% on Asia Pacific stays booked by 10 May and consumed between 25 April and 30 September 2024.

Quick thoughts
I love a discounted Hyatt stay as much as anyone so it’s great to see a sale launched even if it only covers a specific geographic area.
It’s important to note that while the headline discount is shown as being ‘up to 20%’, the actual discount on offer will often be noticeably less because the discount is calculated on the “Standard Rate” and not the lowest non-sale rate that a property is offering.
You can see this with the following real-world example from the Hyatt Regency Sydney:
Here, the sale rate is ~15% lower than the standard rate but only ~6% lower than the ‘Member Rate (the cheapest non sale rate) which also offers a slightly better cancellation policy.
This, however, won’t always be the case and in some locations (e.g. the Grand Hyatt Seoul) you may find that the full 20% discount is offered and that you’re being offered a genuine 20% discount on the next best rate available.
In further good news, unlike some sales that we see this one doesn’t commit travelers to a non-flexible booking – most properties appear to be allowing free cancellations up to 3 days before arrival.
Overall and based on a limited number of searches, this looks like a sale that may offer some promise. I’ve found the Park Hyatt Melbourne available for $210/night + taxes/fees, the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok (review) available for $149/night + taxes and fees, the Hyatt Regency Koh Samui available for $136/night + taxes and fees, and the Park Hyatt Beijing available for $235/night + taxes and fees so there are some reasonable deals out there if you look hard enough.
You’re unlikely to find any spectacular deals or anything that’s likely to prompt you into an impromptu booking, but if you were planning a trip anyway, this sale will save you some money.
Bottom line
Hyatt has unveiled a new sale that’s valid at 224 properties in the Asia Pacific region (which includes the Maldives). The sale is offering discounts of up to 20% on the standard room rate for bookings made by 10 May 2024 for stays consumed between 25 April and 30 September 2024.
