One of the biggest things that our family wanted to do on our recent trip to London was visit the Warner Brothers Studio where the Harry Potter franchise was filmed. Everyone in our family is big Harry Potter fans, and so we knew that we wanted to make a tour out to the Leavesden studio. The problem ends up being that the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio is not really in London but instead in Leavesden, which is a good hour at least north of London. So if you are visiting London without a car, it isn’t super convenient to get to.
Buying Warner Bros. Studio Tour London Tickets
You can buy Warner Brothers Studio Tour tickets at the official site, if they are available.
But they only have a limited amount of tickets each day, and they sell out pretty quickly. We didn’t plan in time and by the time we went to buy tickets, they were completely sold out. They do seem to open up some tickets super close in, but we weren’t able to get official tickets.
How To Buy Warner Bros. Studio Tour London Tickets At The Last Minute
So, if like us, you can’t find tickets through the official site, there are a few ways to get Harry Potter Warner Brothers Studio Tour tickets at the last minute. There are several different (paid) tour companies that buy up Warner Brothers Studio tour tickets and then resell them. In some ways, it’s nice to have this other option. On the other hand, maybe that’s why it’s so hard to get tickets 🙂
Here are a few other options for last minute Warner Brothers Studio Tour tickets. These tickets can be booked either with or without transportation from Central London
There may be other options – as I mentioned, we booked through Viator. Viator is nice because you can often get cashback by going through a shopping portal, plus you can reserve your place and pay later as long as you do it before the cancellation policy.
Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour London Axis & Globe Review
We booked our tickets through Viator and it was fulfilled by a company called Axis & Globe. For 4 people (2 adults and 2 children), our total came to USD $484.76. While this is quite a bit more expensive than just buying tickets through the official site, a) tickets weren’t available through the main site and b) this did come with transportation from London.
We got an email from Axis & Globe with instructions on where to meet. We had a 2pm departure booked outside the Royal National hotel. We took the Piccadilly line from our Hammersmith hotel to Russell Square, and it was a quick walk to the hotel. The bus was waiting out front, though as we walked from the Russell Square tube station it was on the FAR side of the hotel.
There were a few other people there and it wasn’t 100% clear we were in the right place, but then I saw the small placard in the front window of the bus.
A bit later, the driver came by and checked everyone’s tickets. We boarded the bus and set off for the bus ride that was about an hour.
Going To The Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio
Once we got to the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio in Leavesden, the tour operator gave us our tickets and told us to be back at 7:30 p.m. That gave us about 4 hours in the studio itself. I was worried that wouldn’t be enough time to see everything, but it was just about perfect. I think you COULD spend more time in there if you wanted to, but with 4 hours, we felt like we were easily able to see as much of the tour as we wanted. At the beginning there is a bit of a guided tour, and then you are on your own to go through the different props and sets.

The Bottom Line
It’s probably best if you can buy tickets directly from Warner Brothers – or at least certainly cheaper. While the official tickets don’t come with transportation from London, Warner Brothers does run shuttle buses from Watford Junction if you take the train up there. While I didn’t LOVE paying nearly twice as much for a ticket from a tour provider, it was nice to have an all-inclusive ride up there and not have to worry about. The Axis&Globe tour company that we used was professional and it was a good experience
