Back in March, American Express rolled out a offer for spending made with British Airways but, at the time, none of my cards appeared to have been targeted. In the past 24 hours, however, something has changed and I can now see the offer in my account.

Quick thoughts
The good news is that multiple purchases totaling $1,200 or more will trigger this offer so you don’t have to spend the whole amount in one transaction.
The bad news is that the offer must be triggered by 23 June so if you’re only just getting access to this offer (as I am) you’re not being given much time to find flights that you’d like to book.
The other bit of bad news is that the offer is only valid on flights originating in the United States so it can be used for any of the great Business Class deals that are available out of various European countries.
Keep in mind that you don’t actually have to fly by 23 June to trigger this offer – you just have to have paid for your fare(s) by then – so this deal should cover travel into May 2025 and, I guess, that’s also a bit of good news.
If you’re considering a Business Class booking, keep in mind that while it used to be hard to recommend British Airways thanks to its appalling and antiquated ying-yang Business Class cabins, a lot of the aircraft that it now operates across the pond feature the new Club Suite (seen in this article’s featured image) which is a vast improvement on the old product.
If you keep away from the airline’s A380s (which all still feature the seat from the stone age) and look for a Business Class cabin that offers a 1-2-1 layout, you should be just fine.
Targeted cards
Disappointingly, I don’t appear to have this offer targeted to card_name or even the card_name so my potential points earnings from this offer are limited.
I’m only seeing it on my card_name, my Amex EveryDay® Credit Card, and my Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card (no longer open to new applicants) and none of these cards would be one that I usually get out when preparing to pay for an airfare.
Hopefully, readers will have more luck than me as pairing this offer with the 3 points/dollar that the American Express® Green Card offers on travel spending (terms apply) or, better yet, pairing it with the 5 points/dollar that card_name offers on up to $500,000 of spending made directly with airlines or on flights booked through Amex Travel (1 point/dollar thereafter – terms apply), would throw in a very nice bonus.
Note: All information about the American Express® Green Card, the Amex EveryDay® Credit Card and the Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card has been collected independently by Traveling For Miles. The American Express® Green Card, the Amex EveryDay® Credit Card and the Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card are not currently available through Traveling For Miles.
Bottom Line
If you’re considering booking a transatlantic flight in the next few weeks (for travel as far into the future as May 2025), log into your Amex account and check to see if you have been targeted for an offer that would save you $180 on $1,200 of spending with British Airways.
For most people, this offer has been around since the end of March but if you weren’t targeted back then, it may have appeared in your account over the weekend.
Has anyone had better luck than me? Has anyone had this offer targeted to a card with solid earnings for travel/flight bookings?
