The Rio Hotel & Casino is now part of World of Hyatt. It offers some insanely cheap room rates (especially since Globalists get waived Resort Fees and complimentary breakfast) and the renovated rooms are spacious.
I am staying this week at the Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World (full review here). I’ve stayed here several times and really enjoy Resorts World, overall. When I saw how inexpensive the rates were at the Rio Hotel & Casino, I had to book a second room just so that I could review it. I’ll have that review soon, but here are some initial thoughts. As a Globalist, my Resort Fees are waived. The reservation clocks in at $21 plus tax.
Globalists are able to use the separate VIP check-in lounge and avoid the lines in the main lobby.
The Ipanema Tower has already been remodeled. The rooms feel fresh and keep the Rio theme alive. While it’s not my style, they did a nice job in refreshing a tired hotel.
I inquired about suite upgrades and was told that the hotel was full (it’s not according to Hyatt.com), but I didn’t feel like arguing. I was proactively offered a 4:00 PM late checkout and told that Breakfast is complimentary at Hash House A Go Go.
The room I was given is a Renovated | 1 King Bed High Floor Strip View Deluxe. It was selling for $174 per night (not including the Resort Fee), so this was an upgrade.
The room is like a junior suite and has plenty of space and a huge bathroom.
Everything in the room felt pretty new and you can see that the furnishings had not been used many times.
The bathroom had two sinks. One in a separate room with the toilet and shower.
Anthony’s Take: Is this the most glamorous hotel on the strip? Nope. Is it a screaming deal when it costs as much as a cocktail? Absolutely. Stay tuned for the full review later this week.

Say, aren’t all rooms at the Rio suites? Perhaps I’m mistaken and am thinking of somewhere else.
They have many that are called rooms, but they’re all spacious.
