Free bmi Silver status for Diamond Club sign-up

For a limited time British Midland is offering Silver status for three months to anyone that joins the Diamond Club program. You simply need to earn 4,000 status miles (which you can earn from travel on any Star carrier) during that period to qualify for the rest of the year.

  1. Sounds like UA. I just wish AA does this offer too.

  2. Lucky, as a non frequent traveler is it worth it for me to credit the few United flights I have to bmi for this promotion? Does it get me Econ+ or baggage on United, or is it better to hope that United does Double EQM again?

  3. Is BMI still doing status matching?

  4. BMI, yes they are still doing a tier match.

  5. Hi Lucky,
You can also get instant BMI Silver without the 4k mile challenge through this link:

    thanks for your great tips…

  6. Does that mean BMI Gold is only 38K miles in the year then?

  7. BMI match requires a BMI operate flight booking now

BMI silver will get UA free bag, but no E+

  9. The IOD offer does not work. See attached email:

“The upgrade offer, for Silver membership, was specifically targeted at members of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Belfast, UK. In order to ensure dispatch of your Silver membership pack please provide us with your IoD Belfast membership number for verification to qualify for the offer. Until such time as we receive and verify your IoD Belfast membership number your Diamond Club account will remain at Blue membership status level.”
