Link: Southwest Airlines® Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card

I wrote about this offer in early July when it first came out, though I think it’s worth posting a reminder that the increased 50,000 point sign-up bonus on the Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card ends tomorrow, Tuesday, August 6.

New cardholders earn 50,000 points (enough for two roundtrip flights) after spending $2,000 within three months. The same offer is also available for the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Premier Business Card and Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Plus Card, which you can find if you scroll to the bottom of the page at this link.

I do think this is a great option for domestic travel, given that you earn two free roundtrips with the sign-up bonus, and the 6,000 points you receive each anniversary more than justify the annual fee. So this is an airline credit card that’s not only great for the sign-up bonus, but also to keep long term.

Also keep in mind that if you rack up 110,000 points in a year you’ll earn Companion Pass with Southwest, which allows someone else to travel with you for the entire year. For domestic travel it’s one of the best travel perks out there, and to get that from two credit card sign-up bonuses and a bit of spend is tough to beat.

Anyway, if you’ve been thinking about applying for the card, now would be the time to do so, before the sign-up bonus is decreased tomorrow.

    Scott said,

And I remember you as a Platinum Titanium member of the Rapid Rewards program. Nice TR on your last flight on Southwest, btw! Sigh.
