Citi has long had “ghost” links to their credit cards, whereby applications would yield higher sign-up bonuses than the otherwise best publicly available offer. That’s mainly because they were intended to be targeted sign-up bonuses, but the links worked for everyone.
For example, there’s this link to the Citi AAdvantage Visa Card, which offers 50,000 AAdvantage miles after spending $3,000 within three months, and the annual fee is waived. As you’ll see, though, the bonus isn’t actually stated anywhere, but rather people still consistently earn that bonus when applying through that link. But some people don’t feel comfortable doing that, which I can certainly understand.
Those people might appreciate the increased sign-up bonus on the Citi AAdvantage MasterCard of 50,000 AAdvantage miles after spending $3,000 within three months. The application has a landing page stating the offer, and for that matter it has been a while since I’ve seen a 50,000 mile sign-up bonus on the Citi AAdvantage MasterCard.
It’s not a card I earn a referral bonus on, but it is a damn good offer, in my opinion. It’s worth noting that you typically can’t be approved for both the MasterCard and Visa on the same day. If you’d like to learn more about the rules for applying for Citi AAdvantage Cards, this FlyerTalk thread remains the single best resource, especially the wiki at the top.
