Hilton Honors does an amazing job with its global promotions. The program constantly runs bonus offers, meaning that points earning rates are typically excellent. With it now being a new year, Hilton Honors has just launched its newest global promotion, valid for stays over the next four months. Let’s go over the details of the offer.

Hilton Honors Double Your Stay Promotion details
Hilton Honors’ new global promotion is called Power Up Promotion, and with this offer, members are able to earn double points on all stays during the promotion period. At most brands, this means that Hilton Honors members earn an extra 10x points per dollar spent.
There are some details to be aware of:
- The promotion is valid for stays between January 1 and April 30, 2025 (you must check-out by April 30 to be eligible)
- Registration is required prior to your first eligible stay, though it’s fine if you booked prior to registration
- There’s no limit to how many bonus points you can earn, you start earning rewards with the first stay, and there’s no minimum stay required
- It can take up to six to eight weeks for bonus points to post, though they’ll typically post much faster than that
- Award stays are eligible for this promotion, though you’d only earn double points on incidentals, since there’s no spending on room rate to double

How generous is Hilton Honors’ promotion?
How generous is Hilton Honors’ first promotion of 2025? For context, personally I value Hilton Honors points at 0.5 cents each. Under normal circumstances:
- Hilton Honors members earn 10x Honors points per dollar spent at most brands
- Hilton Honors Gold members get an 80% points bonus, and Hilton Honors Diamond members get a 100% points bonus
On top of that, you can maximize your Hilton Honors points earned from hotel stays by paying with a co-branded Hilton American Express card. These cards earn points at the following rates on eligible Hilton purchases:
- Hilton Honors American Express Card (review) – 7x points per dollar
- Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card (review) – 12x points per dollar
- Hilton Honors American Express Business Card (review) – 12x points per dollar
- Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card (review) – 14x points per dollar
With the new Double Your Stay promotion, you can earn 10x bonus points per dollar spent, which I value at an incremental 5% return. That’s great for longer and more expensive stays, given that there are no limits to how much you can be rewarded. However, it’s obviously not ideal for award stays, where you don’t earn any bonus points for the base room rate.

Bottom line

Anyways, if he thinks that UR points are better used for airlines, he isn't playing with a full deck. Amex MR easily covers that front. I've had some fantastic redemptions this past year via MR transfers. Definately a better use than Hilton transfers.
Ink churning has been my friend this year, and I'll be converting those points... like you... for redemptions at some of Hyatt's top tier properties, almost all of which are pre-CONFIRMED into suites or premium suites using either SUAs or the points upgrade rates.
All that said, Hilton did a better job wooing me this year than last. Our Diamond for life status netted us a nice upgrade to a balcony suite when we used our FNC cert at the W.A Beverly Hills. Service there also improved since our first visit during the pandemic.
SLH partnership also makes Honors farrrrrrr more compelling than just last year, with an added benefit of not having to stay at a Hilton (because WA and Conrad aside... meh).

Actually DCS is incorrect about the de facto most elite status according to HGV. They claim that the status above Diamond is to be a timeshare holder with Hilton.

Well, I have participated in several of those timeshare sales pitches and even have one pending as soon as I can find the time to schedule it, and guess how I get out of the pressure to purchase? By making the case that becoming a timeshare holder would be a huge step down from being a (LT) Diamond and a "free agent" -- an argument that not one salesperson has been able to rebut or refute. Are you even aware that HGV is just a "spinoff" company that only peripherally participates in the Honors program and is not bound by some of the program's rules and regulations?
Anyway, the reason we know that LT Diamond is now Hilton Honors' de facto top elite status is because newly minted LT Diamonds receive an official email that tells them that they'd just joined the program's "most elite" status.
