Lounge Review:Delta Sky Club, , Terminal 4 (A gates) – New York JFK (JFK)
This lounge justifies why Delta Sky Clubs have a great reputation
When: March 6, 2024
Rating – 8/10 – Awesome
Access – Flying Delta – Amex Platinum Card holder
There is a reason that Delta Sky Clubs are considered a notch above both United Clubs (that are not Polaris) and Admirals Clubs (not Flagship Lounges) and the nicest of the legacy carriers regular membership lounges..and Delta’s Sky Club at the A gates in Terminal 4 of JFK is a prime example. The décor is modern and luxurious, and the buffet options are stellar.

The lounge is on the A pier of JFK’s terminal 4, past gate A7. After being admitted at the welcome desk, travelers need to go up an escalator to enter the lounge. Admittance is generally limited to 3 hours before departure time, although connecting passengers can enter at any time. Upon entry, you are immediately struck by the impressive lighting display and the tarmac views.
The lounge is broken up into several rooms, including an all weather outdoor deck (apologies for no pictures of the deck). There is comfortable and varied seating throughout and several private work cubicles, which is great for business travelers. The circular bar is truly beautiful. The buffet is massive, with a variety of hot and cold items- which is great for economy class travelers. Even those flying up front might do better than eating on the plane. Although given the look of the lounge, a open cooking station would truly elevate the space.
Throughout the lounge are large windows – perfect for planespotting! I actually prefer this lounge to the larger Sky Club at Pier B, even though that one has showers. This lounge feels more upscale.

I rate this lounge 8/10. Best features: The décor and the bar. Flaws: On my visit, the staff seemed a bit distracted, which is unusual for Delta. This lounge is a long walk from most parts of the terminal – however, there is another Sky Club and several other lounges that travelers may have access to.
