ついにこの日が・・・Ritz-Carltonクレジットカードとおさらば
バックグラウンド 2016年ぐらいからずっとRitz-CarltonクレジットカードをKeepしています。年会費が高額でもKeepする価値があると判断していたのが理由です。 ですが、最近ついにおさらばする覚悟が決まりました。 この記事では解約しようと思った理由をシェアしたいと思います。 85kの無料宿泊券 以前の記事で説明しましたが、無料宿泊券には期限があるし、上手に使うのは場所を厳選しないといけません。 単純に宿泊が無料になるからお得！とも限らない場合があります。駐車場代やResort feeなどがかかると1泊に100ドルぐらいかかる。そして私の場合はMarriottのステータスがないので朝食が無料じゃない。 こうなってくると無料宿泊券を使うには平均で100-150ドルはかかる計算です。もちろん2023年のようにアテネで1泊高級ホテルで使えたら理想なんですが、私の過去の宿泊を見ると、とても私が描いた理想の使い方をできていないことに気が付きました。 特にアメリカ国内でこの無料宿泊券を使って泊まり満足な滞在ができるホテルは少ないと思います。この無料宿泊券を使うために海外旅行を計画するのも意味不明です（だってステータスGoldしかないし、たった1泊分しかない）ホテルに泊まる予定があるから無料宿泊券を使うというよりも、無料宿泊券を使わないのがもったいないからホテルに泊まるという感覚がここ数年の状況でした。 最終的に100-150ドル費用がかかってもまだお得なことは間違いないのですが、毎年どこで使ったら上手に使えるかなーとか考える時間とMental capacityがもったいないと思うようになってきました。 Sapphire ReserveをKeepする Ritz-Carltonクレジットカードは解約しますが、その代わりにSapphire ReserveをKeepしようかと思います。理由はRitz-CarltonクレジットカードをKeepするのと同じでTravel insuranceとレンタカーのInsuranceです。 さらにReserveだと1URポイントを1.5セントでChase travel portal経由で使えるのは便利だと感じます。レンタカーやアクティビティもポイントで取ることができるので、ホテルと飛行機以外でかかる旅行の費用をさらに抑えることが可能です。 Ritzを解約するとSapphireラウンジへ家族でアクセスできなくなりますが、そもそもSapphireラウンジがたくさんないし（BOS, LGA, JFK）、ある空港に旅行する予定も乗りつぐ予定もないので意味がない。 Sapphire Reserveは年会費550ドルで300ドルのトラベルクレジットがある。 Ritz-Carltonは年会費450ドルで300ドルのトラベルクレジットと無料宿泊券がある。 無料宿泊券を使うのにかかる費用を考慮してもRitz-Carltonクレジットカードの方が無料宿泊分だけは得です。 当然ですが、Sapphire ReserveはURポイントが貯まる。Ritz-CarltonクレジットカードはMarriottポイントが貯まります。今の私にとってはMarriottポイントは必要ありません。なのでMarriottポイントが少し貯まっても使い道がない。 それなら使い道がはっきりしているURポイントを貯めた方が旅行に使えると私は判断しました。 まとめ ベネフィットを見ると確かに損はしないカードですが、損しない＝Keepする。Keepしているから毎年お得。という意味でもないなーと思いました。 旅行のスタイルや好みは時と共に変わっていきます。もちろんどんなマイル＆ポイントが貯めやすいか、そしてステータスはどれを持っているかで変わってきます。 自分のニーズにあっていないなーと思ったら思い切って解約してみるのも全然ありだと思います。 一言 もし自分がMarriottのPlatinum以上のステータスがあるならこのままRitz-CarltonクレジットカードをKeepしたと思います。Platinumは簡単に手に入ります。Amex Bonvoy Brilliantを作ればいいだけです。 ただし、今私はMarriottのステータスは必要ではありません。なのでBrilliantを作ってこのままRitz-Carltonクレジットカードのベネフィットも使い続けるという選択肢はありません。

2025年ステータス計画 | エアライン＆ホテルステータス
バックグラウンド 先日AAとHyattがさらなるパートナーシップ強化？で2025年からは今までよりもベネフィットが増える！という記事をシェアしました。 これにより今まで不可能だったことが可能になります。ホテルステータスをひたすら狙えばエアラインステータスも上位を狙える。 この記事で説明します。 エアラインとホテルステータス 今まではエアラインとホテルステータスは別々に取得する必要がありました。中にはエアラインとホテルがパートナーを組んで、エアラインやホテルのトップステータスを持っていると提携パートナーのステータスもついてくることもありましたが、もらえるステータスは一番下ぐらいのものでした。 例えば、MarriottならTitaniniumになればUnitedのSilverがついてきます。でもUnitedのSilverステータスってステータスの中だと一番下なので、正直あまり使い物になりません。 つまり、ホテルとエアラインで使えるステータスを取得するにはホテルはホテル、エアラインはエアラインで別々に戦略を考え取得しなくてはいけませんでした。だからエアライン修行やホテル修行という言葉が存在します。 Hyattに集中するだけでホテルとエアラインステータス同時取得 ここでHyattとAAの話がつながります。Hyattで100泊するとAAのPlatinumがもらえます。PlatinumはワンワールドSapphireでビジネスクラスラウンジが使えます。そしてAAで飛ぶ時は予約時に足元スペースが多少広く、アルコールドリンクが無料のMain Cabin Extraを確定できます。 つまり、ひたすらHyattに集中することでAAの使えるステータスも取得できるという意味です。これはある意味画期的なんです。だってホテル1つに集中すればいいんですから。今までみたいにホテルはホテル、エアラインはエアラインとステータスを別々で追いかけなくてもよくなりました。 問題はHyattの100泊をどうクリアするか 年間100泊出張などでできるなら問題ありませんが、普通の人は難しいですよね。方法としては2パターンあるかなーと思います。 1つは、ひたすらHyattクレジットカードを使い決済額で宿泊数を稼ぐこと。World of Hyattは5,000ドル使うと2泊分宿泊実績がつきます。Hyatt Businessは10,000ドル使うと5泊分つきます。 2つ目は、URポイントを貯めまくりカテゴリ―1のオフピークで泊まりまくって宿泊数を稼ぐ方法。URポイントを貯めるのに適しているのは恐らくInk CashのOffice Store 5%でしょう。 実際は1と2を組み合わせて、さらに実際の宿泊もカウントしながら100泊に近づけていく感じとなると思います。 2025年の戦略 それでは私は2025年にどのようにしようか現時点での計画をシェアしていきたいと思います。 今、World of Hyattを持っています。なので自動的に5泊はもらえる。宿泊実績をもらった後に解約して、2025年にまた作りたいと思ってます。理由は入会ボーナスをもらってから24か月以上経過しているので再度入会ボーナスがもらえるから。希望はここで追加5泊もらうこと。これで10泊分。 ミニマムスぺンドをクリアして少し追加で使うと5,000ドルで2泊分取得できる。12泊分 Hyatt Businessも入会ボーナスをもらってから24か月以上経過しているので、またボーナスをもらえます。なので2025年に作って10,000ドル使い5泊分もらいたい。17泊 実際に泊まるのが30泊ぐらいかなーと思います。47泊。 ここにいつものBest rate guaranteeなどで60泊ぐらいまではもっていける気がします。 あと40泊をどうするか？URポイントを貯めてカテゴリ―1のホテルで宿泊実績を稼ぎたいと思います。1泊5,000ポイントだったと仮定すると、200,000ポイント必要です。Ink系の入会ボーナスが2枚分ぐらい。Ink Cashなら40,000ドル分のOffice Storeでの決済。ちなみに私は3枚Ink Cashあり、年間のOffice Storeで使える上限が25,000ドルなのでOffice Storeで買い物しまくれば200,000ポイントは貯めることが可能。 ということで恐らく100泊を狙おうと思えば狙えるとは思いますが、最後の200,000ポイントを使って宿泊する部分が少し引っかかります。 理由は、これをStatement creditにすると2,000ドルとなります。2,000ドルあればAAのMain Cabin Extraへのアップグレードは家族分でも旅行何回もできそうな金額です。ビジネスクラスラウンジへのアクセスは国際線に乗る海外旅行の時のみです。年に2-3回ぐらいじゃないでしょうか。ラウンジアクセス券とか購入しても2,000ドルで収まる気はします。JALならプレエコ予約すればラウンジ使えますしね。...
