Review: The Club at Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Terminal D

by Adam Stuart | June 1, 2025 | 0 Comments

…Still odd – but improved

A recent expansion has transformed the Club at DFW Terminal E into a nicer experience. The lounge is still oddly layed out, with different, distinct, and separate areas. However, a recent expansion made it a more pleasant place to wait for your flight.

The summary

The lounge is in Terminal D, near gate D25, above the Kate Spade store and Cru wine bar (which is excellent), and next to Buffalo Wild Wings, on the mezzanine level. You can ascend to the lounge via stairs or an escalator (my choice). It remains the oddest lounge I have visited in the US. There are really three separate areas, with a small reception stand in between them all. But I could have easily entered the larger area without the reception agent noticing. One area is a work balcony that is near the reception desk and really is just one separate alcove with a long curved table with outlets overlooking the concourse.

This lounge always had three primary areas: a bar/dining area, the aforementioned balcony, and a more traditional lounge space. What has changed is that the traditional lounge space has more than doubled in size and now contains two rooms, with a new room that has what I would call the “main” bar, which is much larger than the other bar (which remains).

I will start in the new expanded space. The new bar is larger than the older bar and seats five comfortably. The bar is very pleasant space with interesting artwork along the wall. From my read, there was no charge for any drinks. There was a decent list of cocktails and wines. There are beers on tap. The bartender was very gregarious and friendly.

This room also included a rather long table with some snacks (fruit, nuts, candy), an espresso machine, coffee and tea, infused water and soft drinks. Seating near the bar include a communal hi-top table, as well as some smaller tables that can accommodate up to four people. I liked the artwork in this area.

On one side of the bar was an expanded room with some very nice lounge seating. I saw a variety of chairs, including some semi-private seating. This side of the bar had one individual washroom.

Another washroom is on the other side of the bar. This washroom also contains the lounge’s shower – which actually looks rather nice.

Just past this shower room is what was the “old” lounge area. This area has a variety of typical lounge seating.

The other primary area contains the “old” bar, which is much smaller and not really a bar I would want to sit at. However, the drink menu is the same, except this bar only has bottled beer. To the left of the old bar is a rather humble buffet with salad fixings, soups and some rice. Don’t expect a meal. The last time I visited this lounge, the buffet was more substantial – maybe I just came here at an odd time. There are some small tables by the small bar and the buffet.

This lounge won’t win any design awards. Despite some nice artwork, the rooms are rather mundane. In addition, the buffet was not very substantial. On the plus side, outlets were plentiful, and the internet was password protected but very quick. Most of the staff interactions were positive. Kudos to the bartender. I might not arrive early for this lounge, but it is improved from its pre-expansion version.

The wrap

…The details. Date – May 29, 2025. Rating: OK. Access: Priority Pass.

What I like: The staff, the expanded room.

What I don’t like: Only two washrooms, meager buffet, odd layout.
