Lounge Review: United Club, Concourse B (East)- Denver (DEN)

the largest United Club in the world…and an elevated lounge experience

When: October 21, 2023

Rating – 8/10 – Excellent

Access – via United Club Membership

The largest United Club in the entire network sports the latest design, which celebrates Denver. The lounge features expanded food options, two bars, excellent views of the tarmac, and a stunning decor.

This is the largest United Club in the world! It was created as a result of a massive rebuild of the existing and dated lounge and reflects the airline’s commitment to Denver. The lounge is by gate B32 It was one of two new United Clubs (the other is in concourse A) to open in Denver and another United Club (B West) and a United Polaris Lounge are in the works. This lounge is located in Concourse B in Denver, which is solely occupied by United.  The spacious lounge – on 3 levels! – reflects United’s new lounge design, which avoids the cookie cutter design of the mid-2010s in favor of a look that includes locally sourced artwork and other features unique to the location. In addition, the newer lounges have enhanced food options (albeit not as sumptuous as most sky clubs I have visited or Polaris lounges). The décor, two bars, enhanced food options and tarmac views are the highlight.

You enter the lounge – scanned entry is possible – and go up escalators where you see a remarkable display – a hanging pine cone that is made out of skateboards. On floor two – straight ahead is a relaxation are with comfortable seats and a fireplace. To the right is the buffet and more seating. To the left is one of the 2 bars and more seating. Upstairs on floor 3 – there is an additional buffet, another bar, and more seating.

The biggest flaw: For a lounge this size – there should be showers. Rumor is that the B West lounge under construction will have showers – as well as the Polaris lounge. That leaves only the Newark C123 United Club as the only domestic United Club (that is not a Polaris Lounge) with showers. With all the connecting passengers at this huge hub – it’s noticeable. Especially as Delta and American have many domestic clubs with showers. The lounge can also get crowded and the choicest seats – lounges by the windows are hard to get.

That aside, this is a very luxurious lounge that clearly pays homage to Denver and the Rocky Mountains. The bar on level three evokes a ski lodge. There are customer service agents located in small desks on both levels two and three. The staff was working very diligently to keep the club clean – there were not a lot of dirty dishes laying around on my most recent visit. In addition, the mens’ rooms were very large and clean. Internet access was fast and there are outlets throughout.

I rate this lounge 8/10. Best features: Large space, nice design, extensive buffet, outlets everywhere. Flaws: No showers.
