How to find credit card Benefit Guides online

by Frequent Miler | January 28, 2026

Anytime you get a new credit card, you’ll find that it comes with a small booklet usually titled “Guide to Benefits” with tiny print. These booklets typically detail the card’s purchase and travel protection benefits. Sometimes the booklets include additional benefits such as ID theft protection and concierge services. The booklets do not include a full list of all card benefits. Perks such as rewards from spend, free nights, companion certificates, waived fees, etc., aren’t usually found in these booklets. Still, if you need any of the benefits detailed in these guides, or if you want to know more about what’s covered, it’s useful to know how to find them online. In this post, you’ll find instructions for finding benefit guides online from many popular credit card issuers.

American Express

Unlike most other card issuers, Amex provides separate documents for each benefit. You do not need to log in to Amex to see a card’s benefits.

How to find Amex benefit guides

  1. Start here: www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/features-benefits/policies
  2. Click on the benefit you’re interested in.
  3. On the next page, find the specific Amex card of interest and click “View Benefit Guide”
