JetBlue TrueBlue Complete Guide (2026)

by Frequent Miler | April 24, 2026

JetBlue TrueBlue is the loyalty program for JetBlue Airways. The program can be a bit confusing, but it offers rich rewards for those who spend a lot with JetBlue.

This is our guide for everything that you need to know about TrueBlue.

What’s new? This guide has been fully updated with information about and analysis of Points on Repeat subscriptions, aspects of the BlueSky partnership which have gone live, changes to Mosaic benefits in 2026, the latest information on partnerships (including the removal of partners like Hawaiian and TAP Air Portugal and addition of Condor), additional info about the JetBlue Premier Mastercard, and a lot more.

JetBlue TrueBlue Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Free changes and cancellations for flights booked with JetBlue points, except for Blue Basic (most flights booked with cash are free to change as well, but cancellations result in flight credit).
  • Earn credit toward elite status in many ways: JetBlue flight purchases, JetBlue credit card spend, and spending on partners like JetBlue vacations, and Paisly by JetBlue.
  • Earn choice benefits well before reaching traditional levels of elite status.
  • It is possible to earn upgrades to Mint service (JetBlue’s business class offering), which is widely considered to be one of the best domestic business class experiences and also a very competitive international product.
  • JetBlue’s “Same Day Switches” are more flexible than most competing airlines’ same-day changes.

Cons

  • The tile system will likely be confusing for many.
  • Blue Basic fares are subject to a change/cancel fee of $100 per person for travel within North America, Central America, or the Caribbean, or $200 per person for all other routes.
  • Can not repeat “choice” perk picks, which will leave some folks having to choose perks that won’t be valuable to them.
  • Some elite perks are arguably worse than nothing. We’re looking at you, FoundersCard Blue membership.

JetBlue Flights & Vacations

Members earn points for flights and JetBlue Vacations. For each trip, members can earn bonus points by being Mosaic members (e.g., elite members), by booking directly through jetblue.com or through the JetBlue app, and by using a JetBlue credit card to pay.

JetBlue credit cards

a group of blue credit cards

There are several JetBlue credit cards through which you can earn TrueBlue points (and also 1 TrueBlue Tile towards elite status for every $1,000 in purchases).

Note that Barclays also occasionally sends out targeted spending offers to earn additional points per dollar spent, sometimes in specific categories. This often happens around renewal time, with bonus points set to post after you have renewed the card.

JetBlue introduced its Premium credit card product in 2025, but the marquee feature of the card is JetBlue lounge access. In early 2026, they announced major changes to the card that dramatically increase the value proposition (particularly for those interested in obtaining and maintaining elite status). However, keep in mind that while the JFK Blue House lounge has opened, we do not yet know exactly when the second lounge (at Boston Logan airport) will open.

FM Mini Review: After recent updates, this card has become significantly more interesting for JetBlue loyalists. The travel credits should be relatively easy to use, and the 25 tiles get a cardholder halfway to Mosaic 1 status. If you’ll be spending toward Mosaic status on the card, the additional benefit of the new one-time-use companion passes can make that spend more rewarding. The card’s 15% rebate on award flights — even those booked for travel on partners — could also be a nice value-add for those who redeem a lot of JetBlue points.

Points on Repeat subscriptions

JetBlue TrueBlue offers the opportunity to subscribe to a monthly plan to receive points and additional TrueBlue benefits. The following chart includes the basic details of the subscriptions:

As you can see above, the base-level subscription includes 1,000 points per month for a fee of $13 monthly or $144 for a year (the equivalent of $12 per month). That’s right at our Reasonable Redemption Value for JetBlue TrueBlue points, so it probably wouldn’t make sense to buy points at that price since you’re only about 50% likely to come out ahead. The Points Traveler level just doesn’t make a lot of sense unless it helps trigger an airline fee credit on a credit card (we do not yet have data points about that).

Points Adventurer and Points Trailblazer levels add additional points per dollar spent on flights, and the Points Trailblazer level adds a 10% rebate when redeeming points. That rebate stacks with the 10% rebate offered by JetBlue credit cards (meaning that cardholders could get a total of 20% of redeemed points back).

The following chart indicates the price you’ll pay per point based on both the monthly and annual price of each subscription, assuming that you don’t value any of the other benefits:

Subscription type Cost per point based on monthly subscription Cost per point based on annual subscription
Points Traveler 1.3cpp 1.2cpp
Points Adventurer 1.625cpp 1.5cpp
Points Trailblazer 2.71cpp 2.5cpp

As you can see, the cost per point increases with each subscription if you don’t value the additional benefits. Keep in mind that Points Adventurer and Points Trailblazer add additional benefits that you may value, but it is important to determine whether the value of those additional benefits is significant enough to make a subscription worth the cost.

For instance, with the mid-tier Points Adventurer subscription, you would earn a base of 2,000 points per month from the subscription. If you spent $250 on JetBlue flights in a month, you would also earn an additional 500 bonus points on those flights (based on the additional 2x earned on flights) for a total of 2,500 bonus points per month for the $32.50 monthly subscription fee. That would work out to 1.3c per point. If you’ll spend substantially more than that on paid flights per month, the Points Adventurer subscription could make sense.

Similarly, if you’d redeem more than 325,000 TrueBlue points this year, you could bring your net cost per bonus point below 1.2c per point with the Points Trailblazer subscription. Here’s how the math works on that:

  • For the $750 Points Trailblazer annual subscription, you would get:
    • 30,000 points from the subscription (2,500 points x 12 months)
    • 32,500 points from the 10% rebate (10% of 325,000 points redeemed)
    • Total = 62,500 points for $750 fee = 1.2c per point

If you’ll redeem far more points and/or spend a substantial amount of money on airfare, the Points Trailblazer subscription might make sense. That said, we would advise considering this only if your final cost would be well below 1c per point, since JetBlue points are only generally worth around 1.3c per point when redeemed. Committing the money in advance only makes sense if you can expect far outsized value.

Amex transfers at a ratio of 250 Membership Rewards points to 200 TrueBlue points and imposes an excise tax. Sometimes, Amex offers a transfer bonus to JetBlue, which can move the ratio closer to 1:1. Capital One Miles are even worse, and only transfer at a rate of 1,000:600.

Other non-flight options for earning points

a screenshot of a bucket list

JetBlue offers several key ways to earn points beyond spend on flights:

  • JetBlue Vacations. Earn 6 points per dollar on the flight portion of your vacation booking + 1 point per dollar on the hotel booking portion.
  • JetBlue Travel. This is JetBlue’s booking service for rental cars, hotels, and activities. This could be interesting for those looking to amass JetBlue points and credit toward elite status since bookings earn Tiles (1 Tile per $100 spent) and TrueBlue points. Earn:
    • 100 points per day on rental cars from Avis/Budget (200 points per day for Mosaic members).
    • 1 point per eligible $1 spent on stays, activities, and theme park tickets.
    • Note that there are occasionally bonuses to earn more tiles with certain types of bookings
  • TrueBlue Dining. This is the JetBlue-branded version of Rewards Network Dining. Link your credit card with the program and earn 3x TrueBlue points per dollar spent at participating restaurants, bars, and clubs. Note that you can only link your card to one airline dining program at a time (linking with TrueBlue will de-link that card from other airline dining programs).
  • TrueBlue Shopping. This is the JetBlue shopping portal, where you can earn points on purchases at a wide range of retailers.
  • JetBlue card-linked offers. This is the “in-store” version of the shopping portal.
  • Amazon.com. Earn 3 TrueBlue points per dollar spent on Amazon while in-flight on JetBlue.
  • Jet Opinion. Earn points for completing surveys.

How to redeem TrueBlue points

a screenshot of a flight schedule

Redeem for JetBlue flights

JetBlue TrueBlue points can be redeemed to purchase airfare on JetBlue-operated flights. Points tend to be worth around 1.3 cents each towards airfare. Note that JetBlue Plus and JetBlue Business cardholders earn a 10% rebate on points redeemed for JetBlue-operated flights. That rebate increases the expected median value to ~1.45 cents per point.

Redeem for partner award flights

JetBlue has partnerships with Qatar Airways, Condor, Icelandair, Singapore Airlines, and Etihad. Award charts aren’t published, but we’ll go through the approximate costs below.

While TrueBlue awards can be cancelled for free, keep in mind that taxes are held as a flight credit. You will not receive a refund of the taxes when cancelling an award, which is important to know before booking speculative awards that originate outside the US.

Redeem for Condor flights

a close-up of a seat

Condor Airlines flies between several North American cities and Frankfurt, and connects onward to destinations in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Flights on Condor start at 19K points each way in economy class or 54K points and $14.40 one way in business class from east coast cities to Frankfurt (or as low as 45K points each way in business class from Toronto).

Flights can be booked directly on the JetBlue website or in the JetBlue app. Use Seats.aero to find availability.

Redeem for Qatar Airways flights

a seat and a table in a room
Qatar Qsuites, which I flew here on their A350-1000 from Doha to Dubai. This is the flight that got me a 15-hour stay in the Qatar Airways Al Safwa First Class Lounge.

TrueBlue points can be redeemed online for travel on Qatar Airways, pending award availability. For those flying from/to North America, prices for non-stop Qatar flights to/from Doha start at 39K each way in economy, or 90K points in business class.

Flights within the Middle East start at 14K each way in economy, or 24,900 points in business class, while flights between Doha and European or African destinations start at 18K one-way in economy or 29K one-way in business. Southeast/East Asia starts at 29K in economy and 59K in business,

Redeem for Icelandair flights

TrueBlue points can be redeemed online for travel on Icelandair, pending award availability. Redemptions from the East Coast to Iceland start at 17K points for economy or ~70K in business (one-way).

Redeem for Etihad Airways flights

My seat in Etihad business class
Etihad business class

JetBlue TrueBlue points can be redeemed online for travel on Etihad Airways, pending award availability. Awards aren’t cheap, and start at 59,900 JetBlue TrueBlue points one-way for economy class awards between New York or Boston and Abu Dhabi, or 135,900 miles each way for business class.

JetBlue sometimes has access to Etihad award space much farther in advance than other partners. That could make TrueBlue points useful for locking in seats well in advance, especially since JetBlue has a much more customer-friendly change and cancellation policy than Etihad Guest. However, it has become increasingly difficult to find Etihad business class award availability via JetBlue.

Award Change & Cancellation Fees

There are no change or cancellation fees for most JetBlue award bookings. However, Blue Basic fares are subject to a change/cancel fee of $100 per person for travel within North America, Central America, or the Caribbean, or $200 per person for all other routes.

Note also that taxes are not refunded when cancelling an award, but are instead held as an airline credit. While that may not be a big deal on domestic itineraries with $5.60 in taxes per passenger, the taxes can be more significant when departing some foreign countries.

JetBlue TrueBlue Mosaic Elite Status

the inside of a plane

JetBlue Mosaic elite status requirements

Elite benefits are earned based on calendar-year activity. You must earn the following number of tiles between January 1 and December 31 in order to earn elite status for the rest of the current year and all of the following year (through January of the subsequent year):

  • Mosaic 1: 50 tiles
  • Mosaic 2: 100 tiles
  • Mosaic 3: 150 tiles
  • Mosaic 4: 250 tiles

Again, your status level is determined based on activity from January 1st through December 31st. If you earn enough tiles for Mosaic status between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026, your status would last for the rest of 2026 and all of 2027. That status would expire on January 31, 2028.

What are Tiles, and how do you earn them?

Tiles are JetBlue’s metric for determining benefits and elite status levels. Since JetBlue’s elite status levels are called “Mosaic”, the idea is that you collect “tiles” to form your own “Mosaic”.

Most airlines require earning some type of “Tier Points” or “Qualifying Points” or “Loyalty Points” to earn elite status — but rather than calling their units “points”, JetBlue calls the units earned toward elite status “tiles”. You’ll need to earn a certain number of “tiles” to reach status (and various benefits along the way).

You earn 1 “tile” for every $100 spent on JetBlue flights, JetBlue Vacations, or Paisly by JetBlue. You also earn 1 tile for every $1,000 spent on a JetBlue credit card. You can mix and match and earn tiles from both. For instance, if you spent $1,000 on a JetBlue Vacations booking and put the charge on your JetBlue credit card, you would earn 10 tiles from the Vacations package (10 x $100 spent) and 1 tile from $1,000 spent on a JetBlue credit card for a total of 11 tiles.

Through the BlueSky partnership with United, you can also earn 1 tile per $100 spent on United flight bookings when credited to JetBlue TrueBlue.

JetBlue Travel (formerly called Paisly) offers the chance to earn tiles on hotel bookings, rental car bookings, activities, and theme park tickets. You can even earn on travel bags purchased via Paisly. For those who value JetBlue perks and elite status, the chance to earn tiles could provide a decent incentive for purchasing some of these things through Paisly.

You earn choice elite perks with every 10 tiles earned, and elite status levels begin at 50 tiles.

Changes in 2026

JetBlue launched some key changes in 2026:

  • Family Tiles has launched: This is really good news for family travelers, as it means tiles earned by children ages 12 and under can count toward perks and status for the parent. See more in our post.
  • BlueSky Partnership with United has expanded. Reciprocal earning and redemption is possible across both programs, with reciprocal elite benefits slated to begin sometime in Spring 2026.
  • Some Mosaic benefits devalued. Mosaic 1 members now only get 1 free checked bag per passenger and EvenMoreSpace seating benefits only apply to up to 2 companions for Mosaic 1 and 2 members. See more in our post.
  • Redeem points for extras like Even More Space seating. It is now possible to redeem TrueBlue points toward things like Even More Space seating, though only at a subpar value of $0.01 per point.
  • Points on Repeat subscriptions have launched. See more detail in this section of this guide.

Perks You Pick (perks earned prior to elite status)

a wall with a picture of a plane and a jet blue sign

At 10, 20, 30, and 40 tiles earned, JetBlue allows members to select one of the following benefits:

  • 5000 bonus points
  • Early boarding (Group B). Basic economy fares are excluded, but otherwise, this benefit would apply to all of your subsequent flights.
  • Free alcoholic drink on board: Free beer, wine, or liquor on each flight (must be 21 years old or older).
  • Priority security where available.
  • One-time double points on a JetBlue Vacations package. Note that the fine print indicates that members selecting the JetBlue Vacations Bonus perk will earn this benefit on the 6 TrueBlue points per eligible dollar spent on airfare and 1 TrueBlue point per eligible dollar spent on hotels, car rentals, cruises, and transfers, calculated based on the member’s individual proportionate share, as determined by JetBlue, of a JetBlue Vacations package booking. You don’t earn bonus points on the expenses for other travelers on the same booking, nor on any Mosaic bonus or other promotional bonus.

You can only choose each benefit one time, so if you make it through all four levels, you will end up with four of the five options (and if you make it all the way to 50 tiles, you get the last of those benefits also).

This is probably most interesting for those who would only earn 10, 20, or 30 tiles. For instance, if you put $10K spend on a JetBlue credit card and chose 5,000 bonus points as your first perk, that would work out to an effective 1.5 JetBlue points per dollar spent on that first $10K. You may alternatively place more value on early boarding or a free alcoholic drink on each flight and find it worth spending toward one or two of those perks.

Note that there are changes coming to Perks You Pick in 2027. JetBlue has not released details, but they announced that Perks You Pick selected during 2026 would expire on January 1, 2027, as they will be replacing the Perks You Pick system after that date.

Blue Sky – United Partnership

United and JetBlue have announced a new partnership that they’re calling “Blue Sky.” Some benefits have already begun, and others are slated to begin later this year or next year:

  • Reciprocal mileage redemption and earning (live)
  • Reciprocal elite benefits (slated to begin sometime in Spring 2026, but no date has been announced)
  • Starting in 2027, United will have access to up to seven daily JetBlue slots at New York (JFK), while JetBlue will have access to up to eight daily United slots at Newark (EWR)
  • Cross-channel booking (Book Jetblue flights via United and vice-versa)(live)

The two airlines have released the table below which describes reciprocal elite benefits:

FAQ

Which Mosaic perks apply to travel companions?

The following Mosaic perks apply to up to 2 travel companions “booked on the same reservation, checking in with and completing the same itinerary as a Mosaic member on JetBlue-operated flights” for Mosaic 1 & 2 or up to 4 travel companions for Mosaic 3 and 4:

  • Priority Security
  • Early Boarding / Mosaic boarding
  • Even More® Space (at booking for Mosaic 2, 3, and 4 or check-in for Mosaic 1)
  • Mint Suite priority access
  • Free Same-Day Switches
  • 1 free checked bag for Mosaic 1 / two free checked bags for Mosaic 2, 3, and 4
  • Free carry-on bag on all fares (including Blue Basic)

Move to Mint certs can be applied only to a single travel companion.

What is Mint Suite Priority?

“Mint” is JetBlue’s version of business class, available only on select flights. And while Mint seats are generally very well regarded, there can be a big difference between Mint seats on the same aircraft. Some fights with Mint class usually have some rows with only one seat on each side of the aisle and a door that closes (these are known as “Mint Suites”) and other rows with two seats on each side (known as “Mint Seats”). The Mint Suites are obviously more desirable unless you’re traveling with a partner.

Mint Suite Priority gives members first dibs on selecting Mint Suites on select flights (A321 Classic with Mint service). Each time they fly Mint, Mosaics with Mint Suite Priority will have exclusive access to select these reserved suites (if available) until 14 days before departure.

This is not an upgrade from economy to Mint. Further, this perk applies only to the benefit holder and does not extend to others traveling on the same ticket.

How do “Same Day Switches” work?

Mosaic members get free Same Day Switches for themselves and up to eight companions on the same reservation. Mosaic members may make same-day switches starting 24 hours prior to scheduled departure, with no change fee and no fare difference. Members without Mosaic status must pay $75 per person and can only make same-day switches starting at midnight in the time zone of the departing flight. Here are additional details about Same Day Switches from JetBlue’s website:

  • Same-day switch is available for all fare options.
  • You may adjust your travel to an earlier or later flight on the same day as your originally scheduled flight.
  • You must travel between the same city pairs or, where applicable, between the same city pairs and nearby airports (see below for details).
  • A same-day switch can be made beginning at midnight in the time zone of your departing flight and is only available on the same calendar day as your originally scheduled flight.
  • Mosaic customers do not pay a same-day switch fee and can switch a flight as early as 24 hours before the originally scheduled departure time.
  • Customers with refundable fares do not pay a same-day switch fee.
  • TrueBlue redemption bookings are eligible for same-day switches.
  • Interline bookings may be eligible for same-day switches depending on the circumstances and meeting the minimum connection times. Same-day switches to interline bookings can only be made by contacting JetBlue.

How does the Heathrow Express benefit work?

a man sitting at a table in a train

Heathrow Express is the fast train that runs between London Heathrow Airport and London’s Paddington Station. JetBlue Mosaic members get a 20% discount on Express Saver or Business First tickets (plus, a complimentary upgrade to Business First when a Mosaic or Mint customer uses the Express Saver offer). Redeem with the promo code received on LHR-bound flights.

Here’s what Heathrow Express’ website says about this benefit:

JetBlue Mint & Mosaic card holders are entitled to a complimentary upgrade to Business First with their full fare Express Class ticket.

This offer is only applicable to JetBlue Mint & Mosaic customers and one companion (companion must hold a full fare Express class ticket as well).

Heathrow Express colleagues may need to validate your eligibility by requesting proof of your Mint/Mosaic status via your eligible card / boarding pass, which must be presented to them if asked.

Is the FoundersCard Blue Membership useful?

a screenshot of a website

FoundersCard Blue Membership is an optional “Perk you pick” when reaching Mosaic status. Greg tried this out and found that this level of membership offers very few perks. Worse, FoundersCard sent him endless emails begging him to pay to upgrade to a meaningful membership level. Our advice: don’t pick this perk!
