Review: Delta Sky Club at Atlanta (ATL), Concourse D

by Adam Stuart | June 11, 2025 | 1 Comment

…Surpasses expectations…stunning domestic lounge

Highlighted by a luxurious décor, a great buffet and bar, and tarmac views, the largest of 8 Delta Sky Clubs in Atlanta is not only the best at the airport but one of the finest domestic lounges in the US.

The summary

The lounge is near the center of the D concourse (a domestic concourse) at ATL, near gate D18. Guests enter on the concourse level and then have to ascend to an upper level to enter the lounge. There is a choice: stairs or elevators. Caution – this is no small staircase. There are over 60 stairs. The stairwell is adorned with nice artwork, which is feature of the entire lounge.

Once you ascend, there is a scanned entry on the right. A helpful agent can assist travelers if necessary. There is also an attractive customer desk across from the scanners. Next to the desk is a small but welcoming seating area.

Walk a little further down and you will enter the main part of the lounge. It’s really one large plush room with floor to ceiling windows, the largest variety of seating I have ever seen in a lounge, and a variety of tables. The room itself is a large rectangle that surrounds the bar on one side and the large non-alcoholic beverage station on the other.

Seat options include: semi-partitioned seats for two, traditional lounge style chairs, sofas, curved seats for one, and movie style seating in front of a large television screen. There are communal tables, hi-top tables, and a few wood tables, the last of which add some warmth to the décor. Throughout the lounge there is interesting artwork. In the back of the lounge are private offices and phone rooms, perfect for calls or virtual meetings.

The bar itself is fronted by an array of seating. Like all Sky Clubs, there is a large variety of beer, wine and “classic” cocktails for no charge. There is a charge for more premium offerings and “signature” cocktails. The bar menu is identical to the menu in the small Newark lounge – so I used the pictures taken there. It was morning, so I did not avail myself of the bar.

Behind the bar is the very large non-alcoholic beverage station. There is drip coffee, an espresso machine, a variety of juices, infused water, iced tea, and a soda machine.

Food is a highlight in most Sky Clubs. The breakfast buffet does not disappoint. There were cereals (hot and cold), grits (this is the south), a variety and breads/baked goods/spreads, fruit, yogurt, a breakfast pasta, a breakfast salad, sweet potatoes, pork and turkey sausages, scrambled egg bites, hard boiled eggs, and more. I was not a fan of the paper plates and utensils – this lounge is upscale – and this is a cheap look.

I did not use the washrooms. Outlets were everywhere, as you would expect in a new lounge. Internet was password protected but was very fast. This lounge does not have showers, as those can be found in the Sky Clubs that serve the international gate concourses (E, F) at ATL. That said, it would further elevate the lounge if showers were present and is something that connecting passengers would appreciate. That aside, this lounge is a lavishly appointed and incredibly beautiful space that has equaled almost anything I have seen in a domestic airline lounge in the US.

…The details. Date – June 5, 2025. Rating: Very awesome. Access: American Express Platinum Card, Flying Delta.

What I like: The décor, the buffet, the bar, the views

What I don’t like: Crowds…but the Delta app can tell you which lounges are busy.

One thought on “Review: Delta Sky Club at Atlanta (ATL), Concourse D

  1. This club looks wonderful—I will definitely check it out the time that I’m flying Delta through Atlanta. Since my Platinum card will anllo access, I alternately could consider making a side trip to Concourse D to visit this lounge even if I’m flying another airline. Thank you for publishing such a detailed review!
