Review: Capital One Landing – New York LaGuardia (LGA), Terminal B

by Adam Stuart | March 3, 2026 | 0 Comments

The finest airport dining in the US in this hybrid lounge/gourmet restaurant

The summary

The long-anticipated Capital One Landing has opened in Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport. It is a new space near the skybridge to gates 11-31 (which serves American) but easily accessible to all Terminal B passengers.  This marks the second Capital One Landing, the other being at Washington National, and joins other Capital One Lounges in Dallas, Denver, Washington Dulles, and New York JFK. Unlike the traditional Capital One Lounges, which come with many wonderful amenities, Capital One Landing functions more like a gourmet restaurant. You won’t find relaxation pods, showers and many of the amenities that are found in nicer airport lounges. What you will experience is amazing tapas-style dining (courtesy of Jose Andres) in a beautiful space with views of the New York Skyline.

After clearing security at Terminal B, all passengers walk through the Bowery Bay shops – sort of a mini shopping arcade. Once through these shops – take a left before you arrive at Terminal B’s now iconic fountain and follow signs to gates 11-31. (Veer to the right you will find the stellar Chase Sapphire Lounge and the American Express Centurion Lounge). Entrance to the Landing is on the left, before crossing the skybridge to the American Airlines gates. Access (with Capital One Venture X Card) is restricted to 3 hours before scheduled departure.  Reservations made through the Capital One are suggested – but not required.

After presenting your credentials, lounge guests are escorted to a table. There are two main rooms in the lounge, one straight back and to the left; the other to the right. The décor of the rooms is identical, and both sport amazing floor-to-ceiling windows that offer great views of the Manhattan skyline, as well as the tarmac.

I was seated at a table in the room in the back and to the left. There is a variety of table seating: small tables for no more than two people, counter-style seats, larger oblong tables to serve larger parties, and sofa/table style seating. These tables are designed for having a meal. However, I saw a few people working on their laptops. Outlets are discreetly adjacent to every seat.

The design resembles that of other Capital One Lounges in the network: bright colors, some artwork, and, in this case, incredible views of the Manhattan skyline.

This room had a small bar and a rather large buffet of smaller items: impressive charcuterie selection, a variety of salad offerings, and a tempting dessert station. Guests do not help themselves: attendants behind the buffet will serve guests after a selection is made. At the end of the buffet there is a station for barista made coffee. The room also has a stand-alone coffee and tea station, with soft drinks below.

The dining highlight is the made to order options selected from a menu (accessible via QR code), and the selections are brought to your table.

I ordered the Carne asada, chicken fritters, and vegetarian dish, and a mocktail – the Flamingo Shuttle. The drink options are extensive. The food is Spanish-tapas style. Portions are small but the servers will encourage guests to order as much as you want. In addition, there was a roving cart with four types of vermouth with some accompanying snacks. From my understanding, the cart offerings change routinely. For dessert, I had a bowl of grapes I selected from the buffet/dessert station – I prefer lighter desserts. Everything was delicious.

The other room has a similar décor and is located on the right upon entry.

However, the bar/buffet is even more impressive looking. From this buffet, I selected and was served some charcuterie upon the encouragement of the lounge manager. I should note that the staff was one of the most impressive I have seen in any lounge: they were kind, proactive, and attentive without being intrusive.

Aside from the Waygu been offered in the Singapore Private Room and, perhaps, the sushi at the Delta One LAX lounge, the food was the best I have had in any airport.

the details: Date: February 27, 2026. Rating: Exceptional. Access: Capitol One Venture X

….What I like: The food and drinks, the staff, views of New York.

—What I don’t like: Nothing – as long as you do not expect a complete lounge experience. This lounge is about dining.,
