Review: Turkish Airlines Lounge (revisited) – Washington Dulles (IAD), Concourse B

Popular priority pass/Star Alliance lounge has great food, coffee, stylish decor, and crowds

Time to revisit one of the most popular lounges accessible to Priority Pass members in the US as well as Star Alliance Gold members: The Turkish Airlines Lounge at Washington Dulles. The lounge is highlighted its luxurious décor and an outstanding Mediterranean buffet. Unfortunately, early morning I missed the baklava squares for dessert!

The entry is on Concourse B at IAD. In reality, Concourse A and Concourse B is really just one long terminal concourse divided in two sections. These concourses house most all foreign carriers and US carriers other than United and Air Canada. After presenting your travel credentials at reception, you enter the larger main room of the lounge which contains the buffet and a variety of seating for both dining and relaxing. One wall of the room features television screens, another wall has floor to ceiling windows with great views of the ramp. There are few outlets – which is a problem if you need to login.

For breakfast, there was a fascinating buffet, which included menemen (a traditional Turkish egg dish), fondue, a bean casserole and more, with a mix of warm and cold items.

Behind the buffet is the machine for coffee, the dessert/pastry bar, and soft drinks in a refrigerator.

Connected to this room is a narrow corridor which runs aside the floor to ceiling windows offering more great views of the ramp. Off the corridor to the right are two individual bathrooms and a shower suite. Given the crowding, it would be smart to inquire about a shower at reception upon arrival. The corridor ends in a smaller, quieter room with the bar and more seating. This room has very nice planting and is more luxurious.

The bar itself is small but very stylish and the bartender, in addition to making drinks, can make a Turkish coffee, which is amazing! One small cup and I didn’t need a plane to fly!.

This lounge is a victim of its own success.  Several foreign carriers (not just Turkish) send their passengers to this lounge. In addition, IAD, as a hub for United, has many Star Alliance Gold passengers, who also have access. As mentioned, Priority Pass members also have access. So, finding a seat or table can be a challenge. The crowding is going to be a bigger issue now that the Lufthansa lounge is temporarily closed for a much needed renovation.

the details: Date: February 28, 2026. Rating: Very fine (7/10). Access: Star Alliance Gold

….what I like: The Turkish buffet, Turkish coffee, the decor

—what I don’t like: The lack of outlets and the crowding.

  1. Good thing you were there during breakfast hours, yet it was already crowded but looks somewhat quiet. It’s a different tune past noon.
