Review:  Air France Lounge (Revisited) – Washington Dulles (IAD), Concourse A

by Adam Stuart | March 7, 2026 | 1 Comment

Stylish and bright space is a great early morning lounge for Priority Pass members with a nice breakfast buffet

The summary

It’s been a while since I have visited this lounge. Typically, I am at IAD during the later part of the day during which lounge access is limited to Air France and other qualified passengers generally flying over the Atlantic. Priority Pass users are granted access early in the day – and that too may be restricted depending on crowds.

The lounge is in Concourse A at IAD. In reality, Concourse A and Concourse B is really just one long terminal concourse divided in two sections. These concourses house most all foreign carriers and US carriers other than United and Air Canada (though United regional flights use a small pier off of Concourse A). The entrance is clearly marked – but for some reason, I neglected to snap a picture of the entrance (shame!). Right after your credentials are cleared at reception – you see the bar. Unlike other lounge bars, this one is round with a circular column that houses the bottles. There are no lounge stools – the idea is take your drink to your table. Drinks are complementary. There is a small menu – love the fact that they offer a Shirley Temple! The other thing you notice is how bright the lounge is – aided by large windows that provide views of the tarmac and the bright color scheme.

To the left behind reception is a separate and generally quiet room with plenty of large table seating. The room is bright, even without windows, and is where I sat during my visit. Next to this room is a cordoned off area with elegant tables and views. This room is reserved for Air France La Premiere flyers.

The rest of the lounge is one large attractive room with a variety of seating and great views. Air France’s bright color scheme predominates. There is a variety of seating including sofas, tables, counter seating along the windows, and chairs in red and blue. Outlets are placed strategically throughout. Internet was fast and password protected. At the back there is a small cordoned off section, again reserved for premium flyers. In the very back are the individual washrooms and the sole shower.

The buffet was rather substantial for Priority Pass travelers this morning. Items included: yogurts, fruit, a cheese selection, breads (very good) with either jam or butter, cereals, salad fixings, infused water. Hot items included scrambled eggs, chicken sausage patties, and hash browns. Soft drinks were in a refrigerator beneath the buffet. There was the typical tea selection and coffee/espresso machine.

In the past, customer service at this lounge was inconsistent. Not this visit. Everyone working in the lounge was very nice. This lounge serves as a fine choice for Priority Pass members, especially given the crowds at the Turkish lounge (which will be very crowded due to the temporary closure of the Lufthansa lounge).

The wrap

the details: Date: February 28, 2026. Rating: Very fine (7/10). Access: Priority Pass

….what I like: The views, the bright décor (especially the bar), the bread at the buffet

—what I don’t like: Hours are inconsistent for Priority Pass
