Newlyweds Book Cancun Honeymoon With Priceline, And Realize They Got Played When Their Trip Ends Too Early: ‘We Have Nowhere To Go’

There are few trips in a couple’s life more meaningful than their honeymoon. After months of planning, stressing, and paying, it’s supposed to be a time when you can both breathe easy and relax.
For one newlywed couple traveling to Cancun, however, the trip ended on a sour note after they say a Priceline booking issue left them with nowhere to go.
Content creator Emma (@emmabbear) posted about the experience on TikTok in a video that has garnered over 185,800 views.
What Allegedly Went Wrong With Priceline Trip?
“Pack without me because we booked a trip with Priceline,” she begins, referencing a recent TikTok trend, sitting in front of a suitcase.
She explains that they booked a package deal through the company that included flights and accommodation. However, there was an issue.
“Our checkout’s today, and our flight’s not till tomorrow,” she says. “We have nowhere to go tonight.”
Emma says the couple contacted Priceline, but its representative said “there’s nothing wrong,” and “there’s nothing they can do.” She claims their resort repeated the same.
Emma includes a screenshot that appears to be from an AI customer support chatbot. “So there is a gap: no hotel night is booked for tonight (May 7-8), but your flight is tomorrow afternoon,” it reads.
“It told us we had the night we thought we [paid] for it, the resort said otherwise…” Emma writes in the video’s overlay.
The clip then cuts to the couple in another hotel room close to the airport, where Emma shares more details about their experience.
After realizing the issue, she says they contacted the customer support chat. “We had to talk to the AI bot for so long,” she says. “The AI bot was not understanding what we were saying.”
Then, she explains, they were able to talk to a real person, but they didn’t solve their issue. “Then we finally got on a call,” she says. “And they hung up on us.”
Emma adds in the caption, “idk lmk if that’s scammy @priceline this is our honeymoon lowk rude.”
Emma didn’t respond to an email.
Is Priceline Worth It?
Priceline is known for offering discounted rates, especially when travelers book flights and accommodation together. However, customer experiences seem to be mixed.
On Reddit’s r/travel forum, some travelers have warned against using the company for trip packages.
One commenter, for example, claimed they booked a five-star hotel through Priceline, only to be sent to a four-star property instead. They alleged that customer support tried to argue that the score was the hotel’s customer rating, not its star rating.
Another r/travel commenter described a frustrating experience, stating that Priceline’s checkout showed one price, but shortly after booking, an invoice was sent to their email showing a higher price. When they tried to cancel, they claimed they were told the ticket was nonrefundable.
Other travelers advised to be cautious by booking flights directly with the airline, using Priceline mainly for hotels, reading the fine print carefully before paying, and making sure the trip is refundable.
On Trustpilot, however, Priceline has tens of thousands of positive reviews, with many customers praising individual agents by name for being helpful and providing a positive experience. The company has a 2.9 out of five on the review platform.
Priceline did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Commenters React
In the comments section, viewers were shocked by Priceline’s alleged response.
“And then they HUNG UP,” one user wrote.
Emma responded, writing, “YES WE WERE ON WAIT FOR SO LONG AND THEY JUST HUNG UP.”
“No way,” wrote another. “RIGHT?! I was shook,” Emma replied.
“@priceline cmon,” exclaimed a third, tagging the company directly.
