Review: United Club Fly– Houston (IAH), Terminal B

by Adam Stuart | July 6, 2026 | 0 Comments

United’s Club Fly in Houston is a small but attractive and modern place that has an onsite barista bar, food to go, and standing only places to check your emails and charge – but it is not a place to linger.

The summary

The lounge is terminal B at Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH), near the gates. As of this writing, terminal B is entering the final stages of a massive enlargement project that will include the largest United Club in the airline’s network. Meanwhile the little club fly still nails the basics for travelers that do not have a lot of time. This is not a traditional lounge. Like the Denver outpost,  it is a small place with an onsite barista bar and many packaged food items and soft drinks to go. However, unlike Denver, there are no desks/tables to sit at to check your emails, charge your phone, and drink your coffee. Instead there is a small island with no chairs that you can plug in or drink your coffee. The idea is to take your drink and food and head to your gate.

This small lounge opens at 530 AM – the same time as most of the other IAH United Clubs – and better than that odd 7 AM opening time in Denver. Like all the newer clubs, entry is automated – scan your boarding pass.  There is no on-site customer service agent.

The lounge has a bright and modern aesthetic, which I find very appealing. Upon entry, the stand-up island is straight ahead. Past the island, along the far wall (under a United “globe” and a departure screen) is a stand-up counter with additional outlets. There were two lounge guests there. There are no seats anywhere in the lounge.

On the left past the entry were some packaged snacks and a coffee and tea station.

At the far end of the bar is the grab and go refrigerator. This is one of the outstanding features of the lounge. Items inside the fridge include: juices and sodas; a variety sandwiches and wraps; cheese and grapes; salads; pastries; and yogurt.

In the center of the lounge is the large barista bar where a variety of caffeinated beverages are individually made. In addition, the baristas can reheat pastry items for lounge guests.

This is still a relatively new concept for United with only Denver and this Houston outpost as the only Club Fly locations. My usual rating does not make sense here. That said – if you are in a hurry, this is a great option.

….What I like: The barista bar, the nicely stocked refrigerator.
