First-Time Frontier Fliers Get GoWild Pass. Then They Try To Use It: ‘A Little Scared’

For passengers willing to travel more adventurously, the GoWild! Frontier Airlines may be an attractive deal.
The airline advertises the program as offering “unlimited adventures” for a set monthly or yearly fee. With it, members can book eligible flights for as little as $0.01 in base fare. (That does not include the subscription cost, taxes, or fees.)
Of course, there are some arguably strict limitations. For example, pass holders can only book a domestic flight one day before its departure, and an international flight only 10 days in advance.
There is plenty of online discourse about whether the pass is actually worth it. One couple decided to test it themselves.
In a recent TikTok video, relationship therapist Dwan Reed (@drdwanreed) and her husband document their first-ever GoWild! Pass and Frontier Airlines experience. Results were mixed.
How Did The GoWild! Experience Go?
Reed starts the video by filming her and her husband at the airport, gearing up for their flight.
“We can fly anywhere in the United States for about 18 bucks,” she says.
The couple says they’re skeptical. “A little scared,” Reed adds.
They had never flown Frontier Airlines before and had also never used an airline pass.
Checking their bags and going through security goes smoothly.
“It went really quickly,” she describes. “We took our bags up there, got them checked in.”
Things take a turn for the worse when they reach their gate, however. “Our flight has been delayed,” she says. “And even though the sign back here says Baltimore, all these people are going to Detroit. And everybody’s confused.”
Their flight is supposed to leave in about 10 minutes, but Reed says the plane is “nowhere in sight.”
Eventually, however, they do get on board. Once inside, the couple is pleasantly surprised, complimenting the “modern seats” and “decent leg room.”
She did have a complaint, though: how long boarding takes.
“We haven’t gone wild yet,” Reed jokes. “I’ve never been on an airline that takes an hour to board.”
She compares it to Southwest Airlines or United Airlines, where she says things move quicker.
“Here they’re just like, just come on. Take your time. Walk as slow as you want. We’ll get there when it’s time.”
What Was Their Verdict About The GoWild! Pass?
Reed says they ended up arriving about two or three hours late. Still, she says the flight itself was “pretty nice.”
Her main complaint was that water wasn’t free. “They don’t give you free water. You have to buy a bottle of water,” she says.
She says she asked a flight attendant for water, who allegedly “had an attitude” and never brought it. They ended up buying some.
“So make sure you got some money if you fly Frontier,” she says.
Her husband adds, “Not money, credit card.” Frontier Airlines does not allow cash payments for items purchased on board.
The couple also documented their return trip.
“Our flight was delayed again,” Reed says, “Two hours on the way back.”
Despite the delays, they still came away happy with the pass. “Not too bad considering the price that you pay,” she says. “Our opinion is, go wild.”
Reed didn’t respond to a request for comment.
Commenters Share Their Own GoWild! Pass Experiences
Several people shared their experiences with the GoWild! pass.
“Safe travels and enjoy! Love my pass,” one wrote. “Bought the pass a year and a half ago. 32 flights. You can fly Domestic & International. Anywhere Frontier flies to.”
“Thank you for showing this!” a second person said. “I’ve been considering getting the go wild pass. But we’ve never flown Frontier before! Seems like a good deal though. Have you had any other flights since?”
“No, just the two,” Reed responded. “I’ll probably do another one soon.”
“I love my GoWild Pass! Used it 16 times since I got it Sept 2025,” a third shared. “BTW, you can use it internationally as well. I went to Cancun for my bday this July and RT was $180—Non-Stop Flight no Delays.”
Is Frontier’s GoWild! Pass Worth It?
As mentioned previously, the pass does come with some noteworthy caveats.
First of all, there’s a price. The 2026-27 Annual Pass is currently $599 and covers travel through April 30. Seasonal passes are also available, such as a fall & winter option for $249. You can also get a monthly pass, which costs $149 per month.
However, the booking limitations mean travelers have to be pretty flexible. The airline says in its terms and conditions that not all flights or dates will be available for booking. There are flights Frontier operates where no GoWild! seats are available.
Additionally, there are also blackout dates around major holidays or peak travel times during which you can’t book any flights with your GoWild! pass. For this fall and winter season, those include Oct. 8-9 and 11-12; Nov. 28-30; and most of the December holidays: 19-24, 26-31.
For people who travel often and can do so spontaneously, you can save significant funds.
Users online, though, note another factor to consider before buying a pass: the airport closest to you.
In an r/frontierairlines thread discussing the pass, users said it makes more sense if you fly out of an airport like Denver, where Frontier operates a large number of routes. Other airports with frequent Frontier flights include Orlando, Atlanta, and some others.
At airports with fewer Frontier flights, travelers said they may not get as many opportunities to use the pass.
“I’m pretty much telling everyone that if you live in Denver or Orlando or Dallas, this pass will be the greatest thing that ever happened to you,” one wrote. “If you don’t live in one of those places then it seems like it’s a nightmare for a lot of people.”
Frontier Airlines did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
