Review: Chase Sapphire Lounge – Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Terminal D

by Adam Stuart | July 23, 2026 | 0 Comments

Another stunner from Chase

The summary

Chase continues to impress with their Sapphire Lounges. The newest one (which was only opened a few days at the time of my visit) is located by Gate D25 at Dallas-Fort Worth International and immediately sets the bar for lounges at DFW. The entry is clearly marked. After passing through the doors, guests walk down a small corridor with some seats and artwork to the reception desk. Since access is limited to three hours before departure, these seats make sense for those who need to wait a few minutes. After clearing reception, guests take an elevator up one floor to access the lounge.

Most of the lounge activity is to the left after entry. The lounge is richly furnished and is reminiscent of other Sapphire Lounges. There are comfortable lounge chairs, sofas, and tables throughout. The lounge mainly looks out over the check-in concourse – not the tarmac. The views remind me of the Centurion Lounge at LaGuardia.

As in any Sapphire Lounge, food and drinks are the highlight. Let’s start with the food. The pre-plated buffet was one of the best I have ever seen: Pistachio pesto eggplant parmesan, jalapeno lime cauliflower, beet and citrus salad, farro and dried fruit salad, Mexican shrimp cocktail, key lime pie parfait, and pulled chicken with apple and celery slaw. Since I had a substantial omelet at the American Flagship Lounge, I only had a the eggplant and the slaw.

Usually, when hungry at a Sapphire Lounge, I select the made to order items via a digital menu brought to my seat. Since I chose a couple of items from the buffet, I declined to order to my table. However, I took a couple of pictures of the digital menu.

To drink, the lounge offers locally brewed coffee (a feature of all Sapphire Lounges), an espresso machine, cold brew, iced tea, spa water, a filtered water dispenser (carbonation is an option), and there are refrigerators with sodas throughout the lounge.

The main bar is attractive and is similar to the other main bars at Sapphire Lounges. All drinks are complementary, and the drink menu is substantial. There are also beers on top. Still rather early on a Sunday, the bar was not that crowded.

The highlight of the lounge is the room behind the bar: The whisky bar room. The room is richly decorated and it resembles a luxurious living room in a large home. This room houses a small cart with three types of whisky and two old-fashioneds made with two of the whisky options from the cart. There was also some cheese to go with the whisky. Thanks to a guest who let me take a picture of his maple old fashioned.

Back to the right past the entry is the spa area. The lounge offers facials for guests as well as showers. These can be reserved via a digital QR code on tables throughout the lounge (the same QR code from which guests can access the food menu). The showers are well-thought out, stocked with a variety of amenities with additional items that can be ordered. The water pressure was good.

Throughout the lounge, outlets were plentiful and the internet (password protected) worked well. The staff was wonderful: friendly, professional, and proactive: this is a feature of all Sapphire Lounges. I was shocked, however, how crowded (except for the bar) the lounge was. It was only open four days when I visited, and there are so many options at DFW. I have yet to visit the new Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal D (which includes a Plaza Premium First Lounge), but as for now, the Sapphire Lounge is my favorite lounge at DFW.

Southwest Is Spinning Its New Fees As A Success Story — But The Accounting Shows Credit Cards, Not Bags And Seats
Southwest is presenting its new fees and fare restrictions as a transformation success, but the accounting tells a different story. Once you normalize for industry revenue growth, the extra revenue appears to come mostly from credit cards—not bags and seats.
